Obituary for Joyce “Gockie” Boone (Butler) Joyce Irene, “Gockie” (Butler) Boone, age 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, June 23, 2018. She was born on December 1, 1935 to Carl and Wauneta Butler. She attended Jonesville and Hillsdale High School from 1949-1953, received her associates degree from Kellogg Community College and retired from Clark Equipment Co. Gockie’s talents were many, she was an avid crocheter making blankets for her family members, baking cookies for anyone who will eat them, and taking care of her dog Suzie.

Her passion was spending time with family, attending countless recitals, graduations, weddings, horse shows, and sporting events. Her family’s lives are full of memories of camping trips, fishing excursions, movie nights with popcorn and M&M’s and competing in countless Yahtzee tournaments. She is survived by her brother, Thomas Butler; children, Stephen M. Boone (Karen), Dennis M. Boone (Rhonda), Debra A. Shea (Richard); 10 grandchildren (Eric, Shayna, Stacey, Ricky, Jason, Aaron, Jennifer, Shawn, Lacee, Jade); 15 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces; and 1 nephew.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Carl and Wauneta Butler; and her brother Junior Butler. Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Thursday June 28, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, on Friday, June 29, 2018, at 11:00 am.

Interment will take place in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: Wears Valley Ranch (www. wvr.org/online-giving/).
