Joyce Marie Cummings Harris, age 77, of Point Cedar, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019. She was born on April 13, 1941, in Walnut Grove, Missouri, the daughter of Harry Lee Cummings and Mary Leeilia Carver Cummings. On October 5, 1957, she was married to Dan Harris who preceded her in death on December 5, 2018.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Harris; her parents; and her sister, Colleen Pickering. She enjoyed bowling, fishing and taking rides with her husband on their homemade dune buggy. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially attending her grandchildren’s sports events.

Joyce, who was lovingly referred to by her family members as “Granny Short-Legs” was truly a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Johns of Bismarck; three sons, Derrell Harris of Butler, Missouri, Jimmy Harris and Johnny Harris, both of Point Cedar; seven grandchildren, Sean’ Goad, Michael Harris, Jessica Johns, Keith Harris, Daynae Harris-Oliver, Shelbi Harris and Dalton Harris; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale Cummings of Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 27, 2019, in the Free Hill Cemetery, near Point Cedar, with Bro.

Bobby Lock officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Michael Harris, Jessica Johns, Keith Harris, Daynae Harris-Oliver, Shelbi Harris and Dalton Harris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Barbara Cannon, Hospice RN, and the nurses and staff of Hospice of Central Arkansas. Guest registry is at www. davis-smith.com.
