Wanda Cook Hizney, age 84, of Conway, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. She was born on March 13, 1935 at Mount Tabor, Arkansas, the daughter of Joseph Putnam Nooner and Mary Ovie Noles Nooner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hizney; her parents; two sisters, Vela Fox and Eudora McCormick; three brothers, Odell Nooner, George Nooner and Murrell Nooner; and three infant siblings.

Wanda was a member of the Bonnerdale Seventh-day Adventist Church where she served as the choir director. She played the piano and loved music. Most of her working life was spent as a manicurist at the Donaghey Building Barber Shop in downtown Little Rock.

Her clients were from all walks of life and many from the state capital building, including governors and future senators. After retirement, she relocated to Hot Springs where her happiest days were spent with the love of her life, Bob Hizney. On May 12, 2015, Wanda was awarded the Channel 7 Full of Life Award and that award truly described her life.

She was a determined woman, raising four children as a single parent with a quick wit and competitive spirit. Wanda enjoyed traveling, fishing, putting together jigsaw puzzles, playing bridge, feeding and watering the birds and spending time with her family. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Barbara and Jack Robinett of Tumbling Shoals, Sherry and Randy Keisler of Benton, Dale and Cindy Cook of North Little Rock and Crystal and Bob SanMiguel of Walsenburg, Colorado; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her brother, Dennis Nooner of Glenwood; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 30, 2019, in the Bonnerdale Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Brandon Westgate officiating. Memorials may be made to the Bonnerdale Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery Fund, 709 Adventist Church Road, Bonnerdale, Arkansas, 71933. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
