Obituary for Joyce Mullins RICHMOND, Ind. – Joyce Mullins, age 101, of Richmond, Indiana, died Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Reid Health. Born March 13, 1917, in Clintwood, Virginia, to Grover and Corie Short Crabtree, Joyce was a coal mine owner’s daughter.
She moved to Wayne County in 1939. Joyce enjoyed quilting, gardening, and canning. She loved her family dearly and was an amazing mother and grandmother.
Joyce was a humble lady, who lived life to the fullest. Survivors include her daughter, Justine B. (Robert A.) Ketron of Richmond; son, Kenneth H. (Piyawan) Mullins of Lakeland, Florida; grandchildren, James Ketron of Florida, Roy Michael (Denise) Ketron and Elaine (Rick) Ketron-Emrick, both of Richmond, Jeffrey (April) Mullins of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Amy Mullins of Chicago, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Christopher Ketron and Kathy Ketron-Thompson, both of Richmond, Lauren (Anthony) Ketron-Acess and Joe Ketron, both of Florida, Shannon (Michael) Brown, Alyssa Ketron, and Michael B. Morris II, all of Richmond, Brandon (Sarah) Morris of Greenwood, Indiana, and Hailey Mullins and Molly Mullins, both of Chattanooga; great-great-grandchildren, Alexis Brown, Michaela Brown, Gabriel Thompson, and Kaitlyn Thompson, all of Richmond and Ella Acess of Florida; sisters, Clearsey Mullins and Justine Dotson, both of Virginia; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester T. Mullins, who died February 3, 1977; first husband, Jessie Smith; son, Delbert Mullins; grandson, Christopher “Chris” Ketron; parents; sisters, Gladys Mullins, Ella Stanley, Margaret England, and Gertrude Phillips; and brothers, Tedford, Aaron, Raymond, Woodson, Berkley, Hurst, and Bertrand Crabtree.
Visitation for Joyce Mullins will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Chaplain Rick Alvey officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
