Joy Joann Huft of Bothell passed away June 14, 2018 in Seattle. Joy was born April 28, 1949 in Ipswich, South Dakota to Herbert and Phyllis Hieb. She was raised in Hosmer, South Dakota and attended Northern State University of Aberdeen, South Dakota.

She later finished her education at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. On June 8, 1969 Joy married Darrell Matt Huft in Hosmer, South Dakota. They settled in South Dakota where she worked as a teacher for over 30 years.

In her three decades of teaching she taught special education and children with disabilities. She counted the children she worked with as one of her greatest treasures. In her leisure time, Joy enjoyed gardening, volunteering on educational boards and at church, singing in the church choir and playing with her grandkids.

Her family remembers her as a woman with a quiet spirit who was a faithful servant. She possessed an incredible laugh and will be deeply missed. Survivors include her loving husband, Darrell; children, Matthew and Cara (Jack); siblings, Londa, Connie, Vickie; grandchildren, Leroy, Owen, Chance, Anneliese and Harley.

A memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church in Covington. Friends are invited to view photos, get directions and share memories at www. flintofts.com.
