Diane Marie Lambert, born in Waukesha, Wisconsin on February 13, 1940, died on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at her home in Maple Valley, surrounded by her family. She was 78 years of age. Diane was raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin and married Robert “Dewey” Lambert on July 7, 1957.

They moved to Washington State in 1963 following the Boeing boom, later setting into their longtime residence, “The Lambert homestead” in Maple Valley. They had 10 children, 9 surviving, with 31 grandchildren and over 27 great grandchildren (and counting). Diane was an active member of the community through supporting her children in the Tahoma School District.

She was a lifelong avid bowler, crochet-er, slot machine expert, baker/cook, scrabble champion and the Seattle Mariners’ number one fan. Diane was one of those “World Moms” who welcomed, embraced and loved every child that stepped into her home as if they were one of her own. She had a smile so genuine it melted everyone she came across, a hug so powerful that it seemed to squeeze the life out of the recipients, and a sense of humor that made those in the room laugh along with her.

She has left many a lipstick mark on many a cheek. She was the epitome of pure, unabashed love. She is survived by her family and “best friends”: Robert Dewey Lambert, husband; Patricia Bagadinski, sister; and children (and spouses): Wanda Aho, Robert Lambert (Elaine), Valerie Hunkeler (Kirk), Dan Lambert (Linda), John Lambert (Tina), Janie Lambert (Thomas), James Lambert, Andrew Lambert (Abraham), and Mike Lambert (Charlene).

Although the world has lost this exceptional beacon of humanity, her compassionate energy will continue to radiate over humankind. As Mother Teresa once said, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples”. Diane’s ripples will go on forever.
