Per Vernor Ekstrom, of Bellevue, WA, beloved husband of Tiffany and father of Ethan and Emma, passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2018, at the young age of 45. Per was born on September 04, 1973, in Stockholm, Sweden to loving parents Bo and Thenzy Ekstrom. He was raised in Stockholm and Solna, Sweden, and spent happy holidays at the family summer home at Halsinglund, Sweden, together with his parents, grandmother Martha, and his younger brother Mats.
After graduating from high school in Stockholm, he continued his studies in the United States at University of Oregon, where he was on the Dean’s List and graduated from the Charles H. Lundquist College of Business with honors. He was accepted into a special program of higher studies at the Aoyama Gakuin University in Japan where he assisted his professor with research for business law publications. After returning to the USA, he proposed to the love of his life, Tiffany Joy Phosrithong, whom he met during university studies in Oregon, and married her in Honolulu, Hawaii, on July 23, 1999, merging family from Sweden, Thailand, and the USA into 1 international and intercultural family bound together by love.
They began their married life and careers in Eugene, Oregon, and the love story blossomed. After doctors concluded that they would have a childless marriage, they moved to Issaquah, WA, for new employment and shortly after that, God blessed him with his son, Ethan Christian Ekstrom on March 12, 2002, and then miraculously his daughter Emma Eileen Ekstrom, on May 1, 2006. His heart belonged to his wife and children, and his love for them won his heart for the Lord.
His final employment was at Microsoft Corp. in Bellevue, WA, where he earned the rank of Program Manager through his superior skills, dedication, high ethics, and hard work. He was a man of great integrity, diligence, and honor.
He loved family and his extended family dearly and devoted his life to them. In his personal relationships, he was faithful, sincere, and true. He was an avid reader and enjoyed martial arts, including Kravmaga, Taekwando, and Karate, earning certifications in these sports.
In fact, he sought excellence in all that he did. Though he was usually a quiet and modest individual, he was a sincere friend and was loved by many. He was also faithful in fellowship with his family at Eastridge Church in Issaquah, WA.
No one can express how much he will be missed by all who knew him.
