Gary Allan Glover of Auburn passed away Wednesday, June 20th, 2018 in Seattle. He was 79. Gary was born September 20, 1938 in Omak, Washington to Waldo and Ina Glover.

He was raised in Omak and graduated from Omak High School in 1956. He attended the University of Washington on a forestry scholarship. On September 20, 1958 he married Connie Dilley in Issaquah, Washington.

He always joked that he picked the wedding date to be the same as his birthday, so he would never forget their anniversary. They were sealed for time and eternity March 26, 1975 in the Oakland Temple. Over the course of their 59 year marriage they lived in a variety of locations: Ellensburg, Omak, Renton, Port Orchard, Alaska, Salt Lake City, Issaquah, and Auburn.

Gary spent his career as a manger and district manager for Safeway. Over the course of many years since joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gary was actively providing service to any and all who needed it, preferring that his service occurred quietly behind the scenes. In an official capacity, he had many callings within the church, some of which included serving as a counselor in two Bishoprics, as a secretary on the Stake Presidency, as a member of the High Counsel for several years, as well as many other callings.

One of his favorite callings of all times was when he served with Connie in the nursery. A true patriarch, he will be truly missed. Gary was a proud member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), in fact he had a lifetime membership.

He was an avid gun enthusiast who enjoyed reloading his own ammunition. He enjoyed wood carving and studying history. Gary was an avid reader and passed his love of reading down to his children and grandchildren.

One of the things his family and friends will greatly miss is his candy and divinity making skills. Gary was also an accomplished cook; his pancakes and potatoes were second to none. Family was always a priority for Gary.

He was selfless and always put the needs of his family above his own. He was preceded in death by his daughter Missy. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Connie; his children, Greg Glover (Calleen) of West Valley City, Utah, Holly Lance (Dan) of Auburn, Kristy Glover of Auburn; his grandchildren Kristy Glover of Auburn, Gary Glover (Candice) of Kearns, Utah, Josh Glover (Marissa) of Orem, Utah, Monica Waggoner (Ryan) of Sandy, Utah, Teiha Ahluwalia (Inderpreet) of Auburn, Darcy Glover of Orem, Utah, and Annie Glover of Orem, Utah; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held 1600 to 1800 (4:00 – 6:00 p.m.) Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Flintoft’s Issaquah Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1100 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1100 6th Ave SE, Issaquah. Burial will be held at Lower Hillside Cemetery in Issaquah at 1230 (12:30 p.m.).

Arrangements are entrusted to Flintoft’s Funeral Home. Friends are invited to view photos, get directions, and share memories in the family’s online guest book at www. flintofts.com.
