Judy Maria Porson, 52, of Harrisburg, lost her 4 year fight with cancer on May 7, 2018 at home with family by her side. She fought hard and never quit or lost her taste for life. Judy traveled and spent time with friends and family during those 4 years.

Those travels will always be good memories to treasure. Judy was born July 5, 1965 to Herman and Laura Parra in Queens, NY. On June 3, 1989, Judy married Edward in Staten Island, NY.

They moved to Harrisburg, NC in 2000. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Charlotte. She retired as a corporate executive assistant in the banking industry.

Judy will always be remembered as a brave and beautiful woman. Judy is survived by her loving husband of 29 years Edward Porson; two sons, Steven and Michael Porson; mother, Laura Valencia; and beloved dog, Bailey. She is preceded in death by her father, Herman Parra.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:45 PM, Friday, May 11, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Harrisburg. Judy’s memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, following the visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to American Cancer Society.

We will all miss her and hope that she finds peace in heaven with all of those who have passed before her. Rest In Peace Judy Porson, a devoted wife, mother, daughter and friend 07-05-1965 to 05-07-2018. Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg is serving the Porson family.
