Julia Eames Nelson October 5, 1931 ~ December 23, 2018 Julia Eames Nelson passed away surrounded by her family on December 23, 2018. She was born on October 5, 1931 in Logan, Utah to Oliver and Martha Eames. Julia grew up in Logan and met her sweetheart, William Don Nelson, when he returned from serving in the Army during WWII.

They were married on October 30, 1947 and their marriage was later solemnized on February 14, 1963 in the Logan Temple. Julia was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Relief Society, Stake Visiting Teaching Board, and Primary.

She served with her husband for seven years as temple workers in the Ogden Temple. She had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ. She loved visiting teaching and being of service to others.

Julia had many talents, was an avid reader, enjoyed painting, and crafts. As she and Don were raising their family they enjoyed camping, fishing, riding motorcycles, water skiing, and had many wonderful family vacations. Her cooking and baking skills were phenomenal.

She was known for her love of Christmas and had a smile that would light up a room. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Martha Eames; her siblings, Maxine Wallace, Dean Eames, and Martha Jean Saxton Renner; son-in-law, Paul Hogan; and baby daughter, Judy Lynn Nelson. She is survived by her husband, William Don Nelson; children, Larry (Nanette) Nelson of Layton, Utah; Susan (Gailen) Lundell of Ogden, Utah; Ron (June) Nelson of Brigham City, Utah; and Kevin (Deb) Nelson of Garland, Texas; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the South Ogden 6th Ward, 4380 Orchard Ave. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and on Saturday from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
