Dorothy Bachman Combe February 3, 1921 ~ December 21, 2018 Dorothy Bachman Combe, 97, passed away peacefully at her home in Farr West on December 21, 2018 surrounded by her family. On February 3, 1921 something special happened to Milton K. and Marianna Stratford Bachman, a little bundle of joy, another girl. Dorothy grew with her two sisters and a brother.

She graduated from Ogden High School and then went onto Weber State College. On September 28, 1942, she married the love of her life Luther E. Combe in Olympia, Washington. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Dorothy and Luther were the owners and operators of Combe’s Drive Inn for 35 years. After they closed the drive inn, she worked for Lewis Crafts, then Ogden Stamp, where she retired. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many callings.

Surviving are two daughters, Marianna Bingham, Farr West; and Dorothy (Ron) Harris, Salt Lake City; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Combe; 13 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Arlene Muller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther; son, Keith; parents, two brothers, Milton and a baby brother; one sister, Phyllis Boothe; and one great-grandson, Justin.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Special thanks to Dr. Christian, the nurses and CNAs of Symbii.
