Shirley Ann Ashton March 22, 1929 ~ December 21, 2018 Shirley Ann Ashton passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2018 surrounded by her grandson and daughter. She was born on March 22, 1929 in Ogden, Utah to Alston Joseph Pierson and Rita Blanche Stokes. She was raised in Ogden.

During her life she also lived in Fort Smith, Arkansas and San Francisco Bay Area. Shirley worked many years in the retail and real estate industries. She married John Richard Rutherford, and was later sealed in the LDS Ogden Utah Temple in October 1990.

John passed away October 29, 1995. She married Kenneth Dale Ashton in May 1999. She was widowed in 2006.

Shirley’s passion was in artistic expression. She loved to create beautiful masterpieces. Shirley also loved decorating her home and maintaining a good, clean and orderly environment for her family.

She is preceded in death by her daughters: Kathleen LaRue Clements Dreager and Rosemarie Clements Martin. She is survived by her sons: Michael George Ernst Wadman, Gene Howard Wadman; daughters: Pamela Frances Wadman Richardson, Jodi Sue Rutherford Turner; stepsons: Dennis Dale Ashton, Rodney Dean Ashton, Brian Scott Ashton, and Kenneth Blair Ashton; 31 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may visit with family on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
