Julia Mae Arndt February 21, 1925 – December 29, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Julia Mae Arndt, 93, of Cuero passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018. She was born on February 21, 1925 in Terryville to the late Albert and Annie Dieringer Kuester. Julia received her first Holy Communion on May 9, 1937 and completed Confirmation on March 6, 1938.

She was confirmed Lutheran on December 22, 1946. As a child, she worked alongside her mother and father at their grocery store in Lindenau. Julia married Leslie O. Arndt on June 14, 1942 in Cuero.

Julia worked as a cashier at Boysen’s supermarket, at Gus Cage’s turkey hatchery debeaking and vaccinating turkeys, was a seamstress at the Howard Parlor Furniture Factory, and was a childcare provider for over 20 years. She loved to sew and crochet, working in her flowerbeds, and mowing yards with her family. Julia was an avid church goer, taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school, and was a member of the Ladies Aid at St. John’s Lutheran Church- Lindenau.

Julia is survived by her son, Delvin Arndt (Kay); daughters, Donna Fuchs (Stanley) and Nancy Gottschalt (Carlos); 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 63 years; and two brothers. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 1, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home.

Services will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019, 10 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church-Lindenau with Pastor William Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Lindenau Community Cemetery. Pallbearers include Troy Fuchs, Kyle Fuchs, Randall Fuchs, Freddie Cade, Austin Cade, and Mark Gottschalt.
