Obituary for June Florence Lau Ng June Lau Ng June 2, 1924 – May 30, 2018 June Florence Lau was born on June 2, 1924 in San Francisco. After graduating from Galileo High School during World War II, June commuted to work at Mare Island when she met Edwin “Nehi” Ng on the bus to work. They married shortly afterward, eventually making their home in Stockton where they had six children: Carolyn, Michael, Jennifer, Rebecca (Becky), Alvin (Daniel), Lori.

Michael fell ill and passed away at the age of 11 years old. Soon after, June and Nehi divorced. June and the remaining five children moved to San Francisco where she lived and worked until her retirement.

After her retirement, June moved to Stockton where she loved to spend time in the garden, take trips to play slot machines, and was an amazing cook. Throughout her life, June was an independent, strong-willed woman with a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She was kind-hearted and compassionate, opening her home to all including animals from the street and provided life-long care for them.

Above all, June loved her children more than anything else in the world and always put them before everything. The past 12 years, she lived at Greenhills Care Home in American Canyon. June left us peacefully in her sleep on May 30th.

June will be immensely missed, but never forgotten. She is survived by: her children, Carolyn (Rick) Quijalvo, Jennifer Ng, Becky Ng, Daniel (Hanne Sivertsen) Ng, Lori (Lonnie) Bowling; and her grandchildren, Chris (Jolene) Balanesi, Aspen Ng, Anya Ng. June is also survived by: her stepmother, Chow Kum Yuok; her sisters, Jenny (Frank) Lum, Jeannette Lau, Jeanne Lau: her brothers, Harry (Carol) Lau, Peter (Dolores) Lau, David Lau; and many nieces and nephews.
