Karen D. Owens, 80, of Gasconade, MO, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at her daughters home in Chamois, Missouri. Karen was born in Morrison, Missouri on October 10, 1937, a daughter of the late Milton & Alvina (Walther) Haeffner. She was the widow of Arvel Owens.

They were united in marriage on December 30, 1982, in Gasconade, Missouri. Karen was a member of Gasconade Union Church. She was a housewife and also worked at Frene Valley Health Center in the kitchen.

Karen is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Wood & husband Bill of Chamois, Missouri; by six step-children, by two sisters, Phyllis Robinson, of Hermann, Missouri; and Anita Wolf & husband Bill, of Morrison, Missouri; a brother, Kirk Haeffner & wife Lana, of St. Peters, Missouri; three grandchildren, Terry Uffelman & wife Marianne, of Chamois; Megan Wood, of Chamois and Joel Wood, of Chamois and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Ardath Wehmeyer and a brother Raymond “Buddy” Haeffner. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Gasconade Cemetery.
