Arthur F. Pecaut, 74, of New Haven, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home. Art was born in Perryville, Missouri on August 24, 1943, a son of the late Francis Herbert & Neomi H. (Smith) Pecaut. Art proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was honorably discharged in 1967. He was able to take the Honor Flight in 2016 to Washington D.C. Art was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, New Haven, a 50 year member of the New Haven American Legion and the V.F.W. in Washington. He was also a former Alderman and Mayor of New Haven.

Art is survived by two sons, Darin Pecaut & wife Rae Jean of New Haven; and Jason & Brittany Pecaut, of Jefferson City; by five grandchildren, Kelsey, Natalie, McKenzie, Harper, & Dash; he also survives by a brother, Dale Pecaut & wife Carol, of Houston, Texas; a sister, Shari Panhorst & husband George, of New Haven; a brother, David Pecaut & wife Marlene, of Marthasville, Missouri; a brother, Randy Pecaut, of Scottsboro, Alabama; a sister, Debbie Oberg & husband Darrel, of New Haven; a sister, Tammy Donaldson & husband Greg, of Washington, Missouri; a sister, Julie Davis & husband Flynn, of St. Charles, Missouri; by his former wife, Linda Pecaut, of New Haven; by two sisters-in-law, Cindy Pecaut, of Berger, Missouri; and Norma Pecaut, of New Haven, and by many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Bonnie Vedder, two brothers Tommy & Phil Pecaut, and a sister-in-law Beth Pecaut. Art worked as a machinist in the Tool & Die Industry and later became a quality control manager.

In his free time he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s numerous activities including volleyball games, dance recitals, and various school programs. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 1st from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, New Haven, with Rev. David Poe officiating. Burial will be at New Haven Cemetery, with full military honors.

Memorials may be given to New Haven American Legion or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
