Marvin G. Horstmann, 83, of New Haven, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri. Marvin was born in Stony Hill, Missouri on October 8, 1934, a son of the late Benjamin & Adele (Von Behren) Horstmann. Marvin proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, New Haven and the New Haven American Legion. He was the widower of Alice M. (Pointer) Horstmann. They were united in marriage on October 25, 1958, at Emory United Methodist Church, New Haven.

Alice preceded him in death on January 20, 2016. He was a supervisor for the Tube Mill which was operated by Kellwood. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fish.

He also loved sports, he enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, the St. Louis Blues, March Madness and the Mizzou Tigers. Marvin is survived by a daughter, Kay Hesemann & husband Robert, of Owensville, Missouri; two sons, Joe Horstmann, of Berger, Missouri; and Jeff Horstmann & friend Theresa Tynes, of Columbia, Missouri, by three grandchildren, Jordan, Cole, and Heidie, two great grandchildren, Autumn & Arya, and by many nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, by five brothers, Harvey, Harry, Harold, Elmer, and Albert Horstmann and by three sisters, LaVerne Koelkebeck, Helen Gillig, and Mildred Weaver.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 1st from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, New Haven, with Rev. David Poe officiating.

Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Memorials may be given to New Haven Senior Center or New Haven American Legion. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
