Katherine J. Purtle, 66, of Smithville, MO died at Garden Valley Manor on Thursday, May 24, 2018. She was born in Kansas City, MO on July 30, 1951 to the late Leonard and Flossie (Limerick) Green. Katherine was a great cook who enjoyed trying out new recipes; she loved to travel with her sister Dorothy and her husband Bill every chance she would get.

Her most favorite thing was being Nana to her grandchildren. She is survived by her children Tracy (Brian), T.K. (Kerry), Jennifer, Lee, Wendy and Troy (Kim); 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, Katherine is preceded in death by her husband Norman who died in 2002; her brothers Leonard Green Jr. and Frank Green and sister Mary Clifton. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 12-2 PM with funeral service beginning at 2 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Interment will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery.
