Red Hook – Kathleen ‘Kathy’ Marie Aron, 69, passed away peacefully Tuesday , September 18, 2018, at her home in Red Hook. Kathy was a lifelong area resident. She was born October 11, 1948 in Poughkeepsie and graduated from Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School.

Soon after she moved to Rhinebeck and began her 46 year career as a waitress at Foster’s Coach House. Kathy was more than a waitress to many of her customers; she became a friend and caregiver to many of them. For three years Kathy also operated the restaurant at the Red Hook Golf Club and worked in private catering.

Kathy is survived at home by her companion of 25 years, Charlie Hapeman; her son and daughter in law Sean and Karen Hansen of Rhinebeck; her grandsons Matthew Hansen, Ryan Howard and Sean Howard; a brother Dickie Banks; and countless cherished friends. Kathy is also survived by her two dogs, Doodles and Daisy. Everyone that knows her knows how much they meant to her and for that reason memorial donations are requested to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave.
