Obituary for Kathleen M. Matthews Kathleen Marie ‘Kathy’ Matthews Feb. 18, 1944 – April 12, 2018 Kathleen Marie “Kathy” Matthews, 74, Duncansville, died Thursday morning at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. She was born in Altoona, daughter to the late Francis and Mary Jean (Hoover) Bleicher.

On July 27, 1963, she married Thomas L. Matthews at St. Patrick’s Church, Newry. Surviving are her husband; two daughters: Leanne Dengler and husband, Walter and Amanda Hammel and husband, Dan, all of Maple Hollow, Duncansville; four grandchildren: Nicole, Lauren, Andrea and Leah; one sister: S. Jean O’Fiesh and husband, Elia, of Hollidaysburg; and two brothers: F. Gordon Bleicher and wife, Kathy, of Newry, and Brian Bleicher and wife, Bonnie, of Woodbury. Since birth, Kathy had been a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Newry.

She was a 1962 Graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School, and retired from the Hollidaysburg Area School District where she worked in food service. Kathy enjoyed decorating, flower gardening and especially spending time with her family. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Newry, Father Allen Zeth officiating.

Entombment will follow at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park.
