Andersen, age 93, of Fostoria, MI passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at A Family Affair, Lapeer, MI. She was born March 11, 1925 in Fostoria to the late Guy and Cassie (Hutchins) Swadling. Kathryn married Alfred Andersen on June 22, 1946, he preceded her in death on September 5, 2018.

She worked as a nurses aide at the State Hospital. Kathryn loved baking, playing the piano and sharing good times with family and friends. She was a member of the Pleasant View Free Methodist Church.

Kathryn is survived by four children, Dennis (Sandi) Andersen of Rock Ledge, FL, Darlene (Steve) Simpson of Otter Lake, MI, Jill (Fred) Rickard of Merritt Island, FL and Jackie Hemingway of Lapeer, MI; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; one daughter, Jeannine; one great-grandson, Kyle Simpson; four brothers; and two sisters. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Pleasant View Free Methodist Church with Pastor Bruce Crockett officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Internment will be in the Rich Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant View Free Methodist Church in Mayville, MI.
