OBITUARY Kathryn Marie Waidlich April 21, 1966 – July 25, 2018 Kathryn Marie Waidlich, 52, of Southport passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. She was born April 21, 1966, daughter of the late Donald Sundquist and Marcella Sundquist. Kathryn grew up in Virginia and worked as a budget analyst for the Department of Army in Ft.

Belvoir, Virginia before moving to Southport, North Carolina 15 years ago. She was a sweet, tenderhearted soul who would help anyone. Kathryn loved Jesus and enjoyed teaching her children about His love for others.

Her children were her world and she would do anything to help them all. Her passion included volunteering for Life Line Pregnancy Center in Wilmington where she could use her loving personality to minister to pregnant women as well as working with a post abortion ministry. Her caring did not stop there; she also enjoyed ministering to others by volunteering in the Women’s Jail Ministry.

Kathryn loved her pets, Jackey, Remi, and Donald who will surely miss her caring nature. She was preceded in death by her sister Teresa Duran. Survivors include her husband Ronald Waidlich of Southport; children, Lauren Simi of Fayetteville, Erik Simi of Chantilly, Virginia, and Anna Waidlich of Southport; stepchildren, Laura Waidlich of Paris and Ronald H. Waidlich of Manhattan; brothers, Gary Sundquist and wife Jennifer of Houston, Texas and Brian Sundquist and wife Natalie of Wheaton, Illinois.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00pm Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service in Southport. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 4:00 to 5:00pm at the funeral home.
