Vieu, age 56, passed away unexpectedly at her Melbourne Beach Fl home on January 6th 2019. Born to Exina and Edmond Vieu on June 17th 1962. She was raised and lived in South Hadley most of her life and is survived by her life partner Mike Castagnarno.

Kathy leaves behind her two children Nicholas Richard and wife Jillian of Chicopee Ma, and a daughter Heather Mansfield and life partner Cory Goulet Of South Hadley Ma. She is predeceased by a son Jeremy Richard. Kathy was a dedicated mother first and foremost.

She treasured her role as Nana to her 4 grandchildren Brandon, Nicholas, Lexie and Sebastian. They will miss her tremendously. Kathy also leaves behind her 3 brothers Gordon Vieu, Thomas and wife Theresa Vieu, James and wife Kathy Vieu, and a sister Michelle Vieu and partner.

Kathy is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly as she was a beautiful person inside and out. Her time on earth seemed to be very short but Kathy was an over achiever. She graduated from South Hadley high school with high honors.

She believed in higher education by attending American International college for many years. she graduated top of her class in with a Masters degree in occupational therapy. She was loved by all that knew her and could make friends anywhere she went.

She was known to have a smile that lit up a room by just walking through the door. Kathy’s calling hours will be held on Friday January 18th from 4-7pm at Curran-O’Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley. There will be a church service for Kathy on January 19th at 10 am at St. Patrick’s Church, 30 Main St., South Hadley Ma.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to help cover the cost of her services.
