Obituary for Kathy M. Mengel (Osborne) Kathy Marie Mengel, 66, of Lewistown, passed away at 12:20 p.m. on Sunday January 20, 2019 at her home. Born June 17, 1952 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Arlene G. (Stricker) Osborne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Simonetti.

Kathy will be remembered and missed by her loving husband, Allen S. Mengel, of Lewistown, whom she shared 29 years of marriage; her daughter, Kari Liddick, of Lewistown, step-children, Christopher Mengel of Villanova, and Jennifer Mengel of Camp Hill, a sister, Melissa Rosenberry and husband James, of Lewistown, nieces and nephews, Jodi Gaudlip and husband Mark of Lititz, Brian Simonetti of Harrisburg, and Kristin King and husband Robert of Texas, and Great-nephew and Great-niece Samuel and Melissa King. Kathy was employed as an Executive Secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue and Human Relations Commision for 32 years Kathy was a secretary at St. Mark’s Alfarata Lutheran Church, a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Lewistown, The Mifflin County Garden Club, Penn State Master Gardeners, and Stone Arch Players. Kathy enjoyed taking trips to Avalon and Cape May, New Jersey with her family.

She had a great passion for flower gardening, music and most of all, her loving family and her Lord. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, glowing smile and her ability to be a friend to all. A funeral service in loving memory of Kathy will be held at noon on Friday January 25, 2019 at The Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown, with Pastor Jerri Carlin officiating.

There will be a visitation held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Private Interment will take place in Mt. Rock Cemetery.
