Keith Lundahl, 90, of Silvis, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019, at UnityPoint-Trinity, Rock Island. Cremation rites will be accorded, and private family services will be held at a later date. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

Keith was born on October 16, 1928, in Moline, IL, the son of Richard and Lillian (Liljequist) Lundahl. He graduated from Bradley University School of Watchmaking and Engraving. He married Jeraldine “Jerry” Carley at First Congregational Church in Moline on September 9, 1950.

Keith was a Corporal in the US Army from 1950-1953. He was the owner of Midwest Typewriter and Superior Shaver Center in downtown Moline. Keith was a lifetime member of First Congregational Church and was also a member for many years at Pinnacle Country Club, the Svithoid Club, and Rock Island County Conservation Club.

Keith will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Keith enjoyed life but especially when golfing, fishing in the river, and playing volleyball. Later on in life, he liked playing cribbage at the Svithiod Club and feeding his birds, squirrels, and raccoons.

Throughout life, he appreciated drinking a Manhattan with an olive, and was always good at coming up with a quick comeback or joke. Keith had 9 holes in one, plus 2 more that he didn’t count because they were in preferred ball tournaments; thus using up all of his son’s, grandson’s and great grandsons’ chances for life. This always made him chuckle when reminded of this fact.

Back in 1961, Keith found an ad in a fishing magazine for a trolling motor, and he decided that he just had to have one. So he checked all over the QC and finally was able to order one through Moline Boat and Motor, becoming the proud owner of the first trolling motor in the Quad City area. In the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, Keith played volleyball at the Y. He was on the travel team that competed in a league against other Y teams and college club teams though out Iowa and Illinois.

Survivors include his wife, Jerry; son, Roger (Chris) Lundahl, East Moline; daughter, Sally Lundahl, Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Ryan Lundahl, Elizabeth (Matt) Kirk, Carley Dawson, Bridget Faull; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memories may be shared on the tribute wall.
