Kenneth “ Paw Paw” Douglas Hanks, 68, of Axton, VA passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019. He was born August 2, 1950 to the late Pansy Sawyers and Ova Lee Hanks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife Pansy Cannoy Hanks; and granddaughter, Jessica Cannoy.

Mr. Hanks was of the Christian faith. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Army. He worked as an electrician for commercial construction.

He is survived by his sons, Joshua… Read More » Douglas Hanks and fiancé Courtney of the home and Robert “Robbie” Lee Cannoy, III and wife, Beth of Martinsville, VA; daughter, Melissa Cannoy Walker and husband, Eddie of Ridgeway, VA; and sister, Janet Fischer of St. Petersburg, FL. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Hailey Cannoy, Caleb Cannoy, Aurora Patterson, and Britney Walker. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville, VA.
