Kenneth’s Obituary Kenneth J. Ackison, 82, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at East Gate Manor in Washington, IN. The Lawrence County native was born June 11, 1936, the son of the late Joe H. and Wilma Mae Bailey Ackison. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Moore Ackison, whom he married April 2, 1955.

Mr. Ackison was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1974. He was a member of the Kelley’s Bridge Independent Church and the DAV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one daughter: Pamela S. Simmons two sons: Timothy A. Ackison and Jay Acksion a sister: Catherene Shaw two brothers: Fredrick Eugene Scior and Tom Ackison two grandchildren: Alicia Simmons and R.J. Simmons a great grandchild: Waylon Reavis He is survived by: a daughter: Brenda (Bill) Newland of Washington, IN two brothers: Donald R. Scior of Ironton and Ralph (Gertrude) Ackison of Kokomo, IN a sister: Freda Ackison of Pedro six grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio with Bro.

John Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery with military graveside rites by VFW Post 8850 and visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
