Nelda’s Obituary Nelda Lake Keys, 91, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Catlettsburg, Kentucky native was born June 23, 1927, the daughter of the late August and Myrtle Williams Guenther. She is also preceded in death by her husband Don “Tuck” Keys Jr

Mrs. Keys was a 1943 graduate of Thomas R Brown High School in Catlettsburg, Kentucky. She retired as a secretary from the Ford Brothers Trucking Company and owned and operated the Don Keys BBQ in Coal Grove, Ohio. Nelda also, worked for the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Marathon Oil Company.

She was a member of Central Christian Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: two brothers: Ernest Cox and Jack Cox four sisters: Jean Richardson, Joyce Jarrell, Kay Taylor, and Linda Branham She is survived by: two daughters: Tomie (Tom) Lintner of Ironton and Jackie (Doug) Moore of Catlettsburg, Ky two sisters: Del (Aldon) Ferguson of Kenova, WV and Bobbie (Dewey) Jones of Lexington, Tennessee two grandchildren: Charlie (Steve) Shelton and Chad Lintner both of Kitts Hill three great-grandchildren: Tyler Shelton, Tessa Shelton, and Lane Lintner Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South 6th Street Ironton, Ohio with Minister Willie Purdee officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
