Funeral service for Kenneth Larry Murphy, age 74, of Decatur, will be Sunday, February 3, 2019, 3:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Franks officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service.

Interment will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Mr. Murphy, who died Friday, February 1, 2019, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born August 21, 1944, in Decatur, to Boyd Evon Murphy and Lois Earline Compton Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Dorothy Baham.

Mr. Murphy was a United States Marine Corps veteran who served in Vietnam. He was a foreman for Amoco Chemicals. He is survived by three daughters, Donna Preston (Todd) of Columbia, TN, Suzanne Martin of Moulton, and Cyndi Copeland (Randy) of Moulton; one brother, Roger Murphy of Raleigh, NC; five sisters, Helen Lowery of Decatur, Betty Tashjian of Destin, FL, Joyce Adams of Decatur, Judy Crowden of Decatur, and Vickie Lofton (John) of The Woodlands, TX; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
