Funeral service for Mary (Clark) Daniel, age 89, of Decatur, will be Saturday, February 2, 2019, 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at First Baptist Church of Decatur with Rev. Dr. Blake Kersey officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Following service in Decatur, the family will receive friends at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel in Birmingham, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. with interment immediately following in Elmwood Cemetery. Mrs. Daniel, who died Sunday, January 27, 2019, at her residence and surrounded by her loving family, was born August 13, 1929, in Munford, AL, to Joseph Howard Clark and Mary Jewel Spence Clark. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur Daniel, Jr., her parents, brother, George Howard Clark, and sister, Margaret Clark Henderson.

Mrs. Daniel was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Decatur, and worked as treasurer and vice president of Vulcan Life Insurance. She is survived by her son, William Mark Daniel (Kim Bowerman Wren) of Tuscaloosa; daughter, Connie Daniel McCall (Samuel Stephens McCall) of Decatur; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Pilots for Christ (P. O. Box 707, Monroeville, AL 36460) or First Baptist Church of Decatur (123 Church Street, N.E., Decatur, AL 35601).
