Obituary for Kerry McNab KERRY DESMOND MCNAB died April 28, 2018 at the age of 63 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Kerry was born in Oak Ridge, Roatan, Honduras on October 10, 1954 to father Kerry Osborn McNab and mother Mary Joyce Forcke. He is preceded in death by his father Kerry, step-father James Via and brother-in-law Nick Huerta.

He is the father of a beautiful daughter, Skylar Tracy McNab that was the love of his life. He is survived by his mother, his brothers Frank McNab, Marty McNab (Deborahe) and Jordan Via (Maya) as well as his sisters Jayne Huerta (Nick) and Tammy Sanders (Jimmy). Kerry served in the United States Air Force from May 1975 to June 1997 (22 years) as a Master Sergeant E7, Space Systems Operations Craftsman.

He received several decorations for his service including the AF Commendation Medal with 3 devices, Meritorious Service Medal with 2 devices, AF Training Ribbon, AF Recognition Ribbon, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with 1 device, National Defense Service Medal, AF Longevity Service Award with 4 devices, Combat Readiness Medal, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon with 1 device, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon/Rifle, AF Organizational Excellence Award and AF Good Conduct Medal with 6 devices. He spent most of his career overseas at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. After retiring from the Air Force, Kerry attended New Mexico State University where he earned an Associates of Applied Sciences degree (Meritorious) and started his career as an architect.

He spent several years designing plans for schools, businesses and other landmark buildings in Las Cruces. He was very dedicated to his work, which he thoroughly enjoyed, and appreciated those that he worked with. One of Kerry’s passions in life was automobiles.

He loved beautiful cars, including his recent 2007 Chevy Corvette and 2017 Mustang GT. He enjoyed driving cars as well as building and collecting model cars. The first car he owned was a small orange 1972 Honda 600 Coupe that he could barely fit in, but he loved that car.

Kerry was tall, lanky and always had a smile on his face; he was kind, loving and a people pleaser. Kerry’s greatest pleasure was spending time with his daughter Skylar and watching her grow into the beautiful woman she has become. Kerry was the uncle to 5 nephews and 4 nieces as well as several great nephews and great nieces.

Kerry will be remembered at a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:00 at Getz Funeral Home. He will forever be missed and loved by his family and those that were lucky enough to know him.
