Obituary for Rudy Luera Rudy B Luera, 58, of Las Cruces New Mexico was called to his eternal home by our lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 17, 2018 in Las Cruces NM. At the time of his passing Rudy was surrounded by his loving family. Rudy was born on August 22, 1960.

Rudy is survived by his mother Lupe Luera from Las Cruces NM, Orlando Gomez, and children: Matthew and wife Jessica, Joseph and wife Mary, Angelica and Adam Luera, three grandchildren Allison, Matthew and Khaleesi Luera, Brother Charles and wife D’Nene Luera, nephew Drew and niece Daryn Luera from Belen NM. Rudy is preceded in death by his father Ignacio (Nacho) Luera and both maternal and paternal grandparents. In the 1980’s he owned and operated Hairitage Styling Salon in Las Cruces.

He worked as a stylist and managed the salon up until a few days before being called home. Rudy loved his clients dearly, they were more than clients they were his friends. The salon was always filled with music, especially “Oldie but Goodies”.

He touched the hearts of many and would put others first. Rudy worked hard and believed in the goodness of others. At a young age Rudy developed a love for music, Rudy played piano beautifully and enjoyed participating in musical recitals.

And later becoming a DJ with a group called Disco Illusions Rosary and Mass will be at 2pm Tuesday September 25, 2018 at Cathedral of Immaculate Heart of Mary, 1240 S Espina, Las Cruces, NM 88001. Committal location at IHM Church Columbarium, reception to follow at IHM Finley Hall. Arrangements by Getz Funeral Home, corner of Solano and Bowman Ave.
