Obituary for James Bishop James Frederick Timothy Bishop went to be with His Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, August 3, 2018 in his home at the age of 29. James was born at home on February 25, 1989 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He attended schools in Las Cruces; Loma Heights Elementary, Lynn Middle School, Mayfield High School-graduating in 2007 and New Mexico State University.

He played percussion in the Lynn Middle School band. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, basketball and baseball. He also enjoyed biking and off road driving in his truck.

James was a long time member of New Covenant Church. He worked at Sonic Drive In, Texas Road House and Bishop Roofing. He is survived by his parents Gilbert George Bishop and Betty Jean Rodriguez Bishop; his siblings Joseph Bishop, Gilbert Bishop and Elizabeth Bishop Morris (husband Benjamin); nephew Hunter Morris; grandparents Eddie Z. Rodriguez and Reyna Soto; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial Service was held at New Covenant Church, 20 Holy Cross Road (corner of S. Main and Holy Cross Rd. ) on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Getz Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested donations be given to the Las Cruces Gospel Rescue Mission or the Las Cruces chapter of the Gideon International.
