Lyme- Kevin D. Murray, 52 died Wednesday December 12, 2018 at the Yale New Haven Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hartford on August 23, 1966 the son of David and Carol Crowley Murray. Kevin grew up in East Lyme, and graduated from East Lyme High school in 1985.

Starting a career in automotive and tires with Jim Graybill in Old Lyme. Kevin went on to own and operate Bridge Street Tire in Groton for many years and recently was the owner of Axelrod Tire and Service in Portland. Besides his parents Dave and Carol, Kevin is survived by his grandmother Sarah Nichols of South Carolina, 1 sister Lisa Murray Fiala of Stratford, 1brother Tim Murray and his wife Grace of Mystic, his fiancé Kristie Woodward and her daughter Kalea Van Pelt of Lyme.

Many nieces and nephews. Anybody that knew Kevin, loved Kevin. While he was fiercely independent, and always driven to do the best he could do, he loved with his whole heart.

He loved his family, his fiancée and her daughter unconditionally. He loved his business in Portland, and the crew he worked with. He was very proud of that business.

Kevin had a quick wit and sense of humor that filled a room with laughter. He was happiest hanging out at home listening to music, playing guitar with his friends and family, belting out a U2 song or two, and working around the house. He will be missed immensely.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday December 17, 2018 from 3 to 6 pm at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand Street, Niantic. Kindly omit flowers. Donations in Kevin’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
