L. Charmaine Core, age 88 of Toronto, OH passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Life Line Hospital, Wintersville, OH. She was born August 8, 1929 in Toronto, OH Charmaine was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church of Toronto, OH, AARP, and was a 1948 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School. She was proud to be the oldest child of her nine siblings, and she loved to be surrounded by her family.

She also loved to watch Jeopardy, to play cards having belonged to several card clubs, and she loved dancing with her husband. Charmaine had served as secretary to Monsignor Angelo Cappelli at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Toronto, OH; had been a waitress at the former Bo-Nae Restaurant in Toronto, OH, and had been secretary for the former Hancock Manufacturing Co. of Toronto, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Donald and Lois (Cusick) Doran; husband, Ralph T. “Tom” Core in 2000 whom she married August 19, 1961; brothers, Richard, James and Gerald Doran and a sister, Juanitia Patterson.

Charmaine is survived by her sons, J. David Core of Toronto, OH; Thomas (Katie) Core of Wadsworth, OH and James (Gary) Core of Brunswick, ME; daughter, Joan (Steve) Stasiulewicz of Galena, OH; brothers, Robert Douglas (Linda) Doran of Manheim, PA; sisters, Marjorie (Elmer) Sewasky of Monaca, PA, Kathleen Morabeto of Columbus, OH, Virginia (Art) Myers of Toronto, OH and Donna (David) Schultz of Steubenville, as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. As requested by her children there will be visitation hours for Charmaine’s family and close friends 5-7 P.M. Sunday, May 20th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH. Additional visitation will be held 9-10 A.M. Monday, May 21st at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, corner of Findley St. and Euclid Ave.

Toronto, OH followed by a Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10 A.M. with the Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti officiating. A Vigil Service will be held at 5 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Charmaine may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 575 Copeland Mill Rd.
