Lawrence “Larry” Franklin Murray passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, in Lawton. He was born in Glendale, California, on July 14, 1942, to Ercie Bill and Beatrice Murray. He was 76.

Family visitation will be Friday, January 11, at 5:30-7:30PM at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 12, at 10:00AM in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating.

Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche. Full military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard from Altus. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Larry attended schools in Glendale and Antioch, Illinois, where he graduated. He married the love of his life, Betty Sue Brown, on January 2, 1963, in Wichita Falls. To this union, two children were born – Djuana and Todd.

Betty preceded him in death in 2012. Larry, aka “Butch”, was a painter in the housing construction industry. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, fishing, hunting, and camping.

He also liked to cook. Most of all, he loved his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents, Ercie Bill and Beatrice Murray; and granddaughter, Bethany Rowley.

Larry is survived by his children, Djuana Rowley of Oklahoma City, and Todd and wife Mary Murray of Lantana, Texas; nine grandchildren, Christen Green, Matthew Lowe, Zack Rowley, Chris Murray, Alex Murray, Nicholas Murray, Brooklyn Bostick, Baylor Bostick, and Maggie Bostick; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Jane Miller and Patricia Trope.
