Lawrence W. Nutt, 82, of Parkersburg died January 10, 2019 at his residence. He was born on September 9, 1936 in Ritchie County and was the son of the late Anthony and Monna Washburn Nutt. He retired from DuPont as a Supervisor in production after 40 years and 7 months of service and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

He was also a member of the Vienna Masonic Lodge #172 A.F. and A.M., Scottish Rite, Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine of Jerusalem. He enjoyed golf, the DuPont Bowling League and church softball. Most of all, he loved raising his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 64 years, Irene Nutt; three children, Janice Brigner of Parkersburg, Russ (Joan) Nutt of Salem, Duane Nutt of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Amanda, Justin, Josh, Christine; and six great grandchildren, Nakia, Kaleigh, Jacob, Lucas, Athena and Mason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Fonda Wedding, Avalene Lewis, Helen Gordy and brother, Raymond Nutt. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 13, 2019, 2:30 pm at the Christ United Methodist Church, Parkersburg, WV, with Reverend Jonathan Nettles and Reverend Tom McDowell officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens with Masonic Rites by the Vienna Masonic Lodge #172. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, WV and Sunday one hour prior to the service at the church. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice for the care given, specifically Kim Atkinson, Nicole, Victoria, Josh and Michelle.
