Charles Eugene Allman, 78, Vienna, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. He was born on July 31, 1940 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. son of the late Charles C. and Mary R. Allman.

Charlie grew up in Vienna and graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1958. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity and the Team Manager for the Bobcat basketball team. He and the rest of the 1958-59 team were inducted into the West Virginia Wesleyan Athletic Hall of Fame in 1994.

Upon graduation, he worked for and retired after 35 years from DuPont Washington Works. He was a longtime member and Trustee of Trinity Episcopal Church in Parkersburg. He served on the Board of the Vienna Public Library that was instrumental in building the Library expansion.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Barbara W. Allman, daughters Diane E. Damron (Gerald) of Hurricane, West Virginia, and Catherine A. Adkins (Michael Rauh) of Vienna, his sister Charlene A. Cottrell of Parkersburg, his beloved granddaughters Lauren and Hannah Adkins, Caroline Damron and Regan Rauh and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 430 Juliana Street, Parkersburg on Thursday, January 3rd at 11:00 am. Burial will follow the funeral at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 2nd from 6:00-8:00 pm at Leavitt’s Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. . In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Trinity Episcopal Church.
