Thomas Dexter Sr., 83 of Belpre, Ohio died on February 21, 2019 at the Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Nelsonville, Ohio on March 20, 1935 and was the son of the late William Franklin and Nellie Louise Miller Dexter. He retired from O’Ames Company.

He was a member of the Whitman Chapel in Belpre. He was a veteran of the Air Force. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed carpentry, building and fishing. He was a 50 years member and Past Master of Menelik Lodge #74 in Marietta, Ohio. Survivors include his son, Thomas (Deborah) Dexter II of Canal Winchester, Ohio, a daughter, Cammilla (Leonard) King of Aurora, CO, a daughter, Tami Dexter of Columbus, Ohio, two sisters, Mary Williams, and Gertrude (Randy) Bass.

Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Hertha J. Dexter in July of 2017, and his parents, 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Services will be on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Reverend James Dexter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to services. Military services will be conducted by Post #15 of the American Legion, Parkersburg, WV.

A service will be held Tuesday at 6:00 PM by the Menelik Lodge #74, Marietta, Ohio. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www. LeavittFuneralHome.com.
