Lee A. Schober, age 77, of Perrysburg, OH passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Parkcliffe Community, Northwood, OH. He was born on August 15, 1940 in Lake Township, OH to George and Thelma (Young) Schober. On December 21, 1963 he married Sarah Guy and they celebrated over 35 years of marriage before Sarah passed away in January of 1999.

He later would marry Eloise “Ellie” (Purdy) Schober in a Blessing Ceremony on July 27, 2012 in Elliston, OH. As a superintendent, he was instrumental in numerous construction projects some of which included, 5/3 Baseball Field, Toledo’s Radisson Hotel, North Star Steel, the Mazda plant in Monroe, Michigan and the Toledo Museum of Art Glass Pavilion just to name a few.

In 1987 Lee was honored as The Concrete Man of the Year by the Toledo Area Concrete Association. His memberships included St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stony Ridge, Carpenters Union Local 351 and S.C.R.A.P. He enjoyed snowmobiling and had been the co-owner of DZ Barn.

He was an auto racing enthusiast and after his retirement he enjoyed restoring antique Case Tractors and being in tractor pulls. In addition to his wife Ellie, Lee is survived by his son: Lee (Linda) Schober Jr. of Morrison, TN, step daughters: Reba (Charles) Van Wormer of Temperance, MI, Debra (Paul) Richardson of Vancouver, WA, Sharon (Mustafa) Kay of Plymouth MI, Irene Cozza of Elmore, OH, Melinda Kirby of Toledo, OH and Marcella (Peter) Crawford of Sylvania, OH, sister: Jane Sibbersen of Perrysburg, OH, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Sarah, he was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Helen (Robert) Birr, Ruth (William) Griffith, Ila Davidson, grandson: Kevin and brother-in-law, Robert Sibbersen.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 W. Main Street, Luckey, OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11 AM from St. John’s Lutheran Church, Stony Ridge, OH where there will be additional visitation from 10 AM until time of services. Officiating will be Pastor Cindy Ritter.

Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery, Walbridge, OH. A bereavement luncheon will be served at the church fellowship hall immediately following the cemetery committal services. Memorial contributions may be given to: the Alzheimer Association, Great Lakes Hospice or St. John’s Lutheran Church.

The family wishes to express special appreciation to the caregivers of Parkcliffe Community Care #1 in Northwood, and to Great Lakes Caring Hospice staff for their compassionate care of Lee, and to Pastor Cindy Ritter for her visits and Prayers.
