Richard “Curly” Wyss, age 80 of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at his residence. He was born August 25, 1938 to Robert and Ellenora (Hartman) Wyss in Fremont, Ohio. Following a nearly 3-year courtship, he married Catherine F. Kirk at St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg on September 3, 1960.

Together, they celebrated 58 years of marriage and raised 5 children. Curly was a Transmission Repairman at the GM Powertrain Toledo Plant for 30 years before his retirement. Curly… Read More » was a man very devoted to his family.

He was an avid participant in his children’s activities as they grew such as: Little League, Boy Scouts and their many other activities. When becoming a grandfather, he continued to get great pleasure attending all of their events. He enjoyed collecting HO Trains, playing Dartball, being active at the Perrysburg Senior Center, and rooting for the Cleveland Indians.

However, it was family that was the center of Curly’s life and always remained his greatest joy. In addition to his wife Catherine, Curly is survived by his children: Michael (Mike Hartman) Wyss of IL, Terri (Mike) Redman of Bowling Green, Brian (Sue) Wyss of Elliston, John (Shelly) Wyss of Deshler, Katrina (Sara Eisenbaum) of Perrysburg; grandchildren: Blair, Brooke, Cortney, Ren, Brian Jr., River, Logan, Maria, Baylee, Cole, Cyruss, Robert and David; sisters: Janet Keaton and Ann Phillips; brothers: Stan Young, Dennis (Carol) Wyss and Ronnie Wyss. Curly was preceded in death by his parents, brother LeeRoy Wyss and sisters: Mary Hough and infant sister Jean.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg. Family and friends will be received at 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Celebrant will be Father George Wenzinger.

The St. Rose Helping Hands will be serving a bereavement meal in the church basement immediately following the Mass. Interment will be in Troy Township Cemetery in Luckey, OH. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials take the form of contributions to: Southern Care Hospice, St. Rose School or the Perrysburg Senior Center.
