Leland’s Obituary QUEENSBURY — Leland Theron Smith Sr., 69, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, after a long illness. Born on February 10, 1950, in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of Theron Smith and Blanchard Fleming. He attended Queensbury High School, then went on to become an auto mechanic at Ed Loya’s and Kara Fiber’s.

Leland enjoyed playing horseshoes, listening to Reba McEntire and spending time with his family. He also loved collecting EVERYTHING. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Jesse James Smith; his daughter-in-law, Trisha Jarvis; his sister, Melva Harrington; his brothers, Frank (June), and Dewey; and his brother-in-law, Tom Staunches.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Jason Smith (Tammy Lewis), Annie Smith, Leland Smith Jr. (Jacky Rock), Ashley Smith, Patricia Genier (Arden Simpson), Raymond Genier, Seline Wright, Lisa Younes; his grandchildren, Raymond II and Becca Genier, Matthew Genier, Katelyn Smith, Tanner Smith, Michael Smith, Jaylin Santana, Kamrin MacIntosh, Decotta Smith, Amber Genier, Damien, Hanna, Chad Aratare, Kylee Smith, MacKenzie Porter, Dominic Smith, Michelle Barber, Jason Hart and Alexandra Smith; his great-grandchildren, Maddox Genier, Scarlett Skellie, Nathan Barber; his sisters, Jenny Staunches, Gert Shippee and Donna McCabe; his brothers, Halsey (Nancy), Louis, Ed (Cathy), Bill (Dale), and his sister-in-law, Sharon Smith; also many nieces and nephews, some were very special: Irv Shippee, Terry Smith, Tammy Smith, Clara and Matthew Laplant. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, March 26 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Gospel Lighthouse Church, 30 La Cross Street, Hudson Falls, NY 12839 A memorial service will follow at the church with the Rev. Paul Mead officiating.
