Obituary for Leon Swope Sr. Leon Swope Sr. was born Dec. 26, 1951, the son Josh C. Swope Sr. and Lottie Johnson. He departed this life on Dec.

9, 2018 at age of 66. He was baptized at an early age at First Ebenezer Baptist by the late Rev. Singleton.

He attended Ivy Tech. He was preceded in death by his father, Josh Swope Sr.; a brother, Josh Swope Jr, and a sister, Sheila “Delphine” Swope. Surviving are daughter, Ursala Joy Manley of San Diego, Calif.

, Angela Brown of Vallejo, Calif. ; a son, Leon “LJ” Swope II of Hopkinsville, Ky. ; grandchildren, D.J., J.D., and Shakeela; and a great-grandson, Jabber, all of California; his mother, Lottie Swope; and a sister, Jean Swope, both of Evansville; a sister-in-law, Karen E Swope; nephews, Jamal (Radesha) Swope, Dion Fox, Shaun (Emily) Swope, Jawan Jones, Willie “Tre” (Tabitha) Fox III, and Timothy Swope Sr.; and great nieces and nephews; and an uncle, Leonard “Uncle Boat” Johnson of Henderson.

Services are Monday, December 17, 2018 at 12:00pm at R. Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel, 1001 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville IN 47714 with visitation from 10:00am until service time. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.
