Leona Nell Alexander July 22, 1927 – January 29, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Leona Nell Alexander, of Evart, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Autumnwood of McBain. She was 91. Leona was born July 22, 1927 in Sears, MI to Thomas Hugh and Elizabeth E. (Oakes) Lepard.

She married Clark Alexander in Sylvan Twp. March 7, 1953 and he preceded her in death October 28, 1999. Leona was a lady apiarist, she and her husband ran a honeybee farm.

In later years she was a seamstress and owned Doll Fashions by Leona. She was a former member of the South Evart Quilting Club. Leona had been an Evart area resident since 1953.

She had a contagious smile and was always there for those in need. Mrs. Alexander is survived by three grandchildren, James A. Chamberlain of Evart, Angela S. Hurlburt of Sears, James H. Alexander II of Newaygo, and a great granddaughter, Jasmine M. Hurlburt of Sears. She was preceded in death by her husband Clark and her son, James H. Alexander I in February of 2018.

She was the last of all her siblings. A memorial service honoring the life of Leona Nell Alexander is in its planning stage and will be announced at a later date.
