Lester “Nuke” Horne Sr. February 2, 1942 – December 29, 2018 Mr. Lester “Nuke” Horne Sr. was born February 27, 1931 to Tom and Hallie Horne. His departed this life Saturday, December 29, 2018. He was a devout Christian and member of Newness of Life Family Worship Center.

Lester retired from Brigg’s Shaffner Inc. where he was Fort Lift Supervisor for many years. He has been a part of the Azalea Terrace Apartments community for 16 years and was an inspiration to many. He was proceeded in death by both his parents, wife Carrie Mae Horne; sons Lester Horne Jr., James Thomas Horne; daughter, Cynthia Horne Pearson; grandsons Rico “Bookie” Horne, Tyrone “Fuzz” Horne Jr.; 5 brothers Henry Thomas Horne, Winston Horne, Howard Horne, William Earl Horne, Martin Horne; 4 sisters, Elizabeth Horne Brame, Hattie Mae Horne Bennett, Kate Horne & Nancy Myrtle Horne.

He leaves to cherish sons Tyrone Horne Sr., Gregory (Catherine) Horne Sr., god son Dwayne “Peanut” Temple, devoted granddaughter Korletter Monik Horne-Jackson (Thomas), grandchildren Zaphoria Pearson, Julius Pearson Jr., Algefields Cain III, Trevor Brown, Chiketha Brown, Verna (Antonio) Sanders, Robin Cowan, James (Kenya) Leach, Shena “NayNay” Henderson, Amber “Nikki” Horne, O’ryan Holmes, Gregory Horne Jr. & Denasja Horne; a host of great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family & friends. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday January 12, 2019 at Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
