Lester L. Hartsock, 99, passed away on September 9, 2018 in Reno, Nevada. He was born in Modale, Iowa, July 28, 1919 to Ralph Carl Hartsock and Verna Maude Kelley. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater from 1942 to 1946.

Lester married Pauline L. Jensen on June 9, 1949. They were married for over 63 years before her passing on March 30, 2013. He graduated from Iowa State Teachers College, and taught several years before pursuing a career in civil service as a Systems Analyst for the Air Force, primarily at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

He moved to Ogden, Utah when he retired, and to Reno, Nevada after his wife passed. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had many varied interests; including family history, square dancing, golf, carpentry and music.

He loved dogs and watching musicals. He was a patient and kind man that enjoyed helping others. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline; his brother Norval Hartsock and his daughter Mary Jo Cox.

He is survived by his children David Hartsock of Battle Ground, Washington and Ellen Miller of Reno, Nevada; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 9:45 to 10:30 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. followed by Graveside Services at 11 a.m. at the Huntsville City Cemetery, 1600 East 100 South, Huntsville, Utah.
