Michael Lawrence Olson, 33, of Layton UT, returned to the arms of our loving Heavenly Father on Friday September 7, 2018 in Layton, UT. Mike (Mikey) was born in Layton, UT to John and Elizabeth Olson on October 14, 1984 and spent his childhood in this area. He married the love of his life, Danielle Olson, on August 5, 2006.

They were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Emma Melonie Olson, on February 1, 2010. Mikey was very intelligent and had a love for life-long learning and was on track to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Sales from Weber State University in 2018. He utilized his sales degree at Vivint, selling home security systems.

Before his career in sales, he courageously served in the United States Army from 2003-2012 fighting bravely for our country in Afghanistan. A few of the medals Mike received during active duty in the United States Army, included the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal in addition to receiving multiple campaign medals. He loved MMA, the outdoors, animals (especially his two dogs), and weightlifting.

He shared a love for health and fitness with his wife. Mike was well-known for his imaginative sense of humor, laugh and charismatic smile always brightening the lives of those around him. His love and devotion to his family was unwavering and he prided himself in being their protector.

A great friend to the family stated that “Heaven is erupting with laughter from his humor” which perfectly explains our dear Mikey. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mike is preceded in death by his brothers, Kirt, Matthew, and Jacob.

Mike is survived by his wife, Danielle; and their daughter, Emma; his parents, John and Elizabeth Olson; siblings, Malan (Bill), John (January), Lilly (Dwain), Anna; and many nieces and nephews. A gathering will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Myers Mortuary at 250 N. Fairfield Rd. in Layton, UT.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the LDS meeting house at 789 Wasatch Dr. in Layton, UT. Condolences and respects may be paid to the family from 10-10:30 prior to the commencement of the service. Burial services will immediately follow at Honeyville Cemetery at West 6900 North in Honeyville, UT.
