Carol Jean Hubbard Sara, 87, returned to Heaven to again take a walk with her eternal companion on September 5, 2018. Carol was born to Charles Wesley Hubbard and Lois Margaret Lloyd Hubbard on April 3, 1931. She was the second of two children.

She grew up in Corinne. Carol attended school in Corinne and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1949. She met our dad, Steven Sara while he was stationed at Hill Air Force Base.

They were married when he returned from Korea, May 29,1953 in Corinne. They were sealed in the Logan Temple in December of that same year. Mom and Dad raised their family primarily in Mantua, Utah.

She loved the small town and everyone who lived there all were her ‘town family’ She loved being outdoors, skiing, camping, hiking and golfing with Dad. Mom said as a young girl she loved riding her horse with her dad on the farm and didn’t want to be in the house doing girl-stuff. She especially loved riding her bike, which Mom did every day until about six months ago.

She is well known for delivering treats and goodies to people in town while riding her bike. When Mom couldn’t ride her bike any longer she made her visits in her golf cart. She lived a life of service.

She knew how to care for and love people and made many impromptu visits to people that needed her. Mom often spent Sunday afternoon visiting friends in care centers and shut ins. She made and donated 1177 quilts to various charity organizations.

Mom worked as a school cook at Box Elder Jr. High and made many friends during her years there. Mom made many dozens of rolls for funerals in Mantua for both wards since 1994. She is a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities.

Mom served 33 plus years in the primary which she loved. She was Camp and Sports director in Stake and Ward for 16 years. Carol and Steve served a two-year mission at the Brigham City Family History Center and 18 months in the California Riverside Mission.

She has served in the Brigham City Temple since it opened in 2012. She is survived by five children: Kathy (Jessie) Gifford, Brigham City; Steve (Jan) Sara, South Jordan; Debbie (Wallace) Bowen, North Logan; Sherrie (Tom) Davis, Inkom, Idaho; Maryanne (Curtis) Butterfield, Riverton. She is lovingly remembered by 24 Grandchildren, and 36 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sweetheart Steve, her brother Lloyd Hubbard, and son-in-law Paul Hansen. Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Mantua 2nd Ward Chapel, 237 S. Willard Peak Rd. , Mantua, UT.

Viewings will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and on Saturday from 1:00 to 1:40 pm at the Church. Interment will be in the Mantua Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Humanitarian Fund.
