Sylvia Summers Garcia passed from this life on the 4th of September. Born on July 8th, 1945 in Temple Texas, the eldest of two children to Loyd “Herb” Summers, Jr and Dorothy “Dottie” B. Summers. Her Dad had a career in the Air force, which allowed her to live many places including Japan, Arizona, Texas, Indiana and Utah.

Sylvia graduated from high school in Bunker Hill Indiana and earned her Nursing license at King’s Daughters Hospital in Temple Texas. Sylvia moved to Utah in 1973 and worked at the VA hospital for 5 years before transferring to the Hill Air force base hospital where she worked for 30 years. Sylvia married Paul Garcia in 1968 and had one daughter.

They later divorced. Sylvia was a member of Eastern Star and is a past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile of Utah and a Past Guardian of Bethel # 14 in Ogden. The light of her life was her daughter, Teresa Evans and then later, her son-in-law Gary Evans.

She will be sorely missed. She is preceed in death by her father Loyd H. Summers and mother Dorothy B. Summers.
