OGDEN- Mary Saiz 96, died peacefully on September 2, 2018 at Turtle & Crane in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Mary was born August 5, 1922 to Frank and Jacobita Quintana in Montrose, Colorado. She graduated from Montrose High School.

She is the oldest of three sisters (Margie, Helen, Bennie) and one brother (Bob). She met and married her husband Pete Saiz of 57 years on September 24, 1941 in Montrose, Colorado. She accompanied her husband while he served in the military.

They later settled in Ogden, Utah. She was a very active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and loved to volunteer for both the church and parochial school her daughters attended. She was a member of the St. Joseph Booster Club, St. Mary’s Council of Catholic Women and countless other organizations.

She was very crafty in her younger years. She loved ceramics, crocheting, sewing, making blankets, doilies, and all that you can imagine. Most of all she loved dancing!

Surviving are her three daughters, Geraldine Champion, Arcadia LA; Loretta (Alex) Okimoto, Kailua Kona, HI; Renée (Jared) Eastman, Shelley, ID; eight grandchildren and fifteen great- grandkids and eleven great- great- grandkids. She was preceded in death by her husband Pete Saiz, her daughter Mary Ann, her parents, and three sisters and brother. Friends may call at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd.

, Ogden, UT 84404 on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. where Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4050 S. 3900 W. West Haven, UT 84401. The family wishes to thank all who provided loving care given to Mary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, Ogden, UT.
